Remote Gyro Package

Cochrane Technologies, Inc. has introduced the next generation of our Remote Gyro Package. In keeping with industry demands, our new remote gyro package is more portable and more lightweight than ever before, eliminating the need for cranes during mobilization. These units can be hand carried and deployed by a single individual. The new models are designed using Hemisphere GPS/Gyros, and utilize the latest in digital technology, which eliminates waiting for the “spin up” time of traditional gyrocompasses (1-2 hours). Ultra low power consumption also allows a single compact gel cell battery to run the unit for up to 30 hours. Accuracy ranges from 0.1 to 0.25 degrees (rms) improving on the standard gyrocompass of +/- 0.5 degrees. Use of these units also allows for sub-meter DGPS positioning, which can be broadcast to the primary navigation computer via RF modem during offshore installations.

  • Improved Accuracy
  • Rapid Deployment
  • Lightweight & Portable
